Help for You and Your Baby’s First Year
Starting July 1, 2026

Homer Helps U Grow is a program for families with babies from birth through 15 months.

The program focuses on well child checkups, shots, and learning what to expect as your baby grows. Our goal is to help your baby get a healthy start in life.

Who Can Join

Your baby may join Homer Helps U Grow if they are:

  • Enrolled in Home State Health Medicaid or Show Me Healthy Kids (SMHK)
  • Newborn
  • Generally healthy and not in a special medical program

Babies who need extra medical care will still get help. They may be placed in another care program that better fits their needs.

How the Program Helps

If your baby is in the program, a care team member will reach out to you. They will check in with you as your baby grows.

They will contact you around times when babies usually have checkups, such as 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, and more through 15 months. These check ins are meant to support you, not replace your baby’s doctor.

What You Can Expect

Through Homer Helps U Grow, you may get help with:

  • Reminders for well child visits
  • Information about shots and vaccines
  • Tips on baby safety, feeding, and sleep
  • Learning about baby growth and development
  • Help understanding health plan benefits
  • Finding community resources, like food or transportation

The care team can also help if you have trouble setting appointments or have questions about your benefits.

Working With Your Baby’s Doctor

Your baby’s doctor is an important part of your child’s care. Homer Helps U Grow encourages families to keep regular visits with their doctor and follow their doctor’s advice.

The program works to support you and your provider as your baby grows during the first year of life.
